Seasonal Water Technician - Northern Water Treatment Plant

East Cherry Creek Valley Water and Sanitation District (ECCV) has been sustaining our community by providing safe and reliable water since 1962. Sourced from the South Platte River and non-tributary aquifers, ECCV distributes water to approximately 65,000 customers in the eastern portions of the City of Centennial and unincorporated Arapahoe County. As the area has grown into a thriving district of homes, schools, and businesses, ECCV has been there, providing the water the community needs with excellence and efficiency.

Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:30 am-4:00 pm with a 30 minute lunch (some flexibility)

Pay: $19/hour DOE - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance (Employee only) for those working 24+ hours weekly.

This is a temporary position that performs miscellaneous tasks at the Northern Water Treatment Plant. Eligible for employee-only medical, dental, and vison coverage. Work is performed Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week

Primary responsibilities:

• Exercises finished water/raw meter valves (valve box located in the ground) for Northern System using a valve key, crowbar, and manhole hook to remove lid to access distribution valves/manholes and Air Relief Valves.
• Preps and paints fire hydrants, Raw/Finish line marker poles using wire brush, paint brush, paint sprayer, and generator.
• Installation of finished water line markers
• Cleans well houses, Deep Well Injection Buildings, Northern Water Treatment Plant Buildings and Boost Pump Stations in remote locations.
• Drive district vehicle equipped with safety lights and trailer.
• Enters work data into Asset Management software.

Other responsibilities:

• Assist facilities/plant maintenance tech staff.
• Assist operations staff.
• Miscellaneous manual labor.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license with satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must be able to safely operate vehicles and equipment, read, record and interpret information.
• Must be able to communicate with other employees and the public.

This position consists primarily of field work and requires full range of physical motion with hand/eye coordination: for frequent standing and walking including on uneven terrain; for the use of tools and equipment; to climb stairs, equipment, and ladders. Position includes the occasional lifting and/or moving of items up to 100 pounds and regular lifting of 20-50 pounds of equipment and tools.
