We are a preschool with a focus on creativity and nature, and we are currently looking for a support teacher who is kind and engaging to work with our group of 2-3 year old children. Our program offers daily yoga, Spanish, and gardening activities, as well as a peaceful and engaging classroom and outdoor environment.

Applicants for the position must have at least one year of verifiable, professional experience or education in Early Childhood education. A good understanding of peaceful and positive discipline, creativity, kindness, patience, and a love for working with young children are all important qualities for the role. A positive attitude, ability to work collaboratively with others, and effective communication skills with both children and parents are also required. Those with a passion for environmental education are encouraged to apply. Our program follows the Charleston County school district schedule and includes an 8-week mandatory summer camp for all staff. Staff members work for 235 days per year.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate learning
• Support individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning
• Support the personal care of children
• Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom
• Collaborate with other teachers, parents and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings and communication.
• Implement educational in-class and outdoor activities and events
• Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by participating in trainings
• Model Grace and Courtesy

Skills

• Proven experience as a ECE support teacher
• Knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures
• Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills
• Well-organized and committed
• Creative and energetic
• Strong moral values and discipline
• Knowledge of CPR
• Education degree or interest in pursuing a certificate in education; HSD or equivilent required

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $19.00 - $22.00/hour.
