Job Description

SALARY RANGE:

$75,000.00 to $85,000.00

LOCATION:

Glendale, California – ON-SITE

STATUS:

Exempt, Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in women's fashion design, with a focus on private label apparel. As a Senior Designer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the creative direction of our brand, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and execute compelling designs that resonate with our target audience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design Development: Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of women's private label apparel collections from initial ideation to final product. Ensure that designs align with brand aesthetics, market trends, and customer preferences.

Trend Research: Stay abreast of current fashion trends, consumer behavior, and market dynamics to inform design decisions. Conduct trend research, attend trade shows, and analyze competitor products to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.

Material Sourcing: Collaborate with the sourcing team to identify and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and materials for each collection. Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of materials.

Technical Design: Work closely with technical design and patternmaking teams to translate design concepts into technical specifications and prototypes. Review and approve samples to ensure adherence to design standards and fit requirements.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with merchandising, production teams, etc. to develop cohesive product assortments that meet sales targets and brand objectives. Communicate design concepts effectively and provide creative direction throughout the product development process.

Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality inspections and product evaluations to uphold the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality control. Address any issues or discrepancies in collaboration with the production team to ensure timely resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Manufacturing, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in apparel product development or a related role within the fashion industry.
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally with teams in the apparel manufacturing sector.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and fashion trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Fluent in Adobe Suites, Microsoft Office, etc.
