Primary Responsibilities:

Yes Energy is seeking Data Analysts to assist our Boulder-based Power Infrastructure Group. The Power Infrastructure Group is responsible for the data integrity of all data collections related to physical power infrastructure and price nodes and for researching and developing new data collections supporting Yes Energy products. Our part-time data analysts will apply their critical thinking skills to assist with several data quality projects. The ideal candidate should have an analytic mindset that enjoys looking for patterns in information, a willingness to research and pull in additional sources of information to determine a solution, and an interest in geo-mapping power infrastructure to support our efforts in Nodal Power Markets. While the position will utilize a custom web-based interface to manage the work, any previous experience working with SQL or relational databases would be a plus. This role will allow you to participate in a collaborative team environment while offering the flexibility to work remotely with a flexible work schedule. This position enables candidates to develop greater knowledge of energy markets while applying and developing technical and research skills alongside one of the industry's most creative and hard-working staff.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform GIS and Web map work to research and identify power-related infrastructure (power plants, transmission grid elements, market indicators)
  • Determine and maintain data on how market objects relate to each other.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to methodologies and procedures.

Experience, Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field (Economics, Geography, Computer Science, Math, and Engineering are preferred)
  • Very strong attention to detail.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to gather, understand, and critically analyze spatial and tabular data.
  • Quick study, self-motivated with a drive to deliver results.
  • Previous experience working with SQL and relational databases a plus

Compensation

Base Compensation Range: $23.00 - $27.00 / hour


In accordance with Colorado law, the range provided is Yes Energy’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower based on non-discriminatory factors such as location, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Position Details

  • Part-time status; 20 hours per week/4 hours per day.
  • One-year commitment with the potential to convert to full-time.
  • This position is open to either hybrid or remote work.
