Job description – Staff Accountant
Expectations:
To contribute to the success of the Company by performing a variety of accounting duties.
The focus of this position is independent action with a strong demand for high-quality, organized, and repeatable results. The responsibilities encompass a wide variety of accounting activities that require the ability to dynamically shift priorities to meet client needs.
The position requires an analytical, inquiring, and critical mind with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage abstract concepts.
Work must be done correctly and efficiently, with carefully thought-out results focused on achieving the required goal while obtaining the highest quality of work. Attention to detail and being a team player is always expected.
The accountant will be the point of contact for a variety of clients so the ability to communicate professionally both verbally and written with all levels of an organization is imperative.
Requirements and Skills:
An Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance from an accredited college/university is preferred.
Current knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and internal financial processes and controls is needed.
Experience in preparing individual and business tax returns is needed.
Integrity and the ability to keep highly confidential information and trustworthiness.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent attention to detail and follow-up abilities.
Relevant bookkeeping/accounting experience is needed.
Courteous, professional phone manner, requiring diplomacy and tact with a strong customer orientation and a commitment to firm core values.
Strong organizational, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Performance Responsibility
Make general ledgers and reconcile entries into accounting systems.
Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, distributing, and posting transactions.
Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Aid in developing systems and processes to account for financial transactions through implementing accounting policies and procedures.
Aid clients in adhering to federal, state, and local reporting requirements, by studying requirements; recommending management on needed actions, and filing reports.

Compensation & Benefits
The total compensation range for this opportunity is $55,000 to $67,000 DOE with excellent benefits (medical, dental, etc.).
