FIELD TECHNICIAN ASSISTANT

COMPENSATION

$14.00 to $16.00 per hour

REPORTS TO

General Manager

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Field Technician assists plumbers and has the opportunity to learn and gain experience in the plumbing field. This position helps plumbers with the installation and repair on a variety of plumbing systems, appliances and fixtures. Opportunities to assist Septic team in pumping, repair. Tractor experience is a plus

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist plumbers with the following:

• Picking up, ordering, and delivering parts and materials to job sites
• Operation of jetter
• Troubleshooting, diagnosing and determining best course of action for plumbing issues
• Water and sewer line installation and repair
• Plumbing fixture repair, replacement, and installation
• Electric and gas water heater maintenance, repair, and installation
• Leak detection
• Selecting appropriate tools and materials

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employees in this position are:

• Subject to environmental conditions, hazards, and atmospheric conditions.
• Frequently in close quarters, crawl spaces, shafts, man holes, small enclosed rooms, small sewage and line pipes, and other areas that could cause claustrophobia.
• Required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical Requirements

Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Activity

Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, and hearing.

Visual Acuity

Employees in this position are required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operates machines, such as lathes, drill presses, power saws, and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach; performs mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature, such as carpenter, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

• Full-time. Typically 40 hours per week, occasionally more.
• Company provides van to drive home.
• Some weekend and evening hours to be expected.
• You will have a company vehicle to take home
• Must have a clean driving record

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
