Communications Specialist

Strategic communications firm is seeking a highly motivated, full-time communications specialist.

Communique has been cultivating healthy ideas since 1979. We help tell the story of food, nutrition, and agriculture in a variety of compelling ways. Communique's specialties include public relations, education, marketing, digital media, email marketing, and social media.

Position Summary:
As a Communications Specialist, you will be instrumental in crafting and refining our client’s messaging across a variety of platforms. Your expertise in writing and editing will ensure that our communications are clear, compelling, and grammatically flawless. You will be responsible for developing content that resonates with our audiences and upholds the brand's voice and vision.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Writing: Create engaging content for various channels, including press releases, newsletters, and white papers, ensuring consistency with our clients’ brand voice.
• Editing and Proofreading: Serve as the primary editor for client communications, ensuring clarity, engaging language, and error-free publication.
• Strategic Messaging: Work collaboratively with others to develop strategic messages for different target audiences.
• Content Creation: Assist with content creation for social media and other digital platforms. Work with the design team to create visually appealing communications materials. Candidates with design experience is a plus!
• Project Management: Coordinate with various departments to ensure the timely and successful delivery of communications projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, marketing, or related field.
• Proven experience (2+ years) in a communications role with a strong portfolio of written work.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency with digital publishing and social media platforms.
• Familiarity and interest in health & nutrition or agriculture is preferred.
• Bonus: Skills in graphic design and familiarity with design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).

Additional Details:
Compensation includes base salary, health insurance, a retirement program, vacation, and sick time. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skills. Employees have the option to telecommute part-time but should be located in the central Missouri area.
