Title: Software Engineer II
Location: Bellevue, WA
Duration: 12 Months (Contract-to-Hire)

The individual is required to be physically present at the Bellevue, WA office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Remote work is permissible on Mondays and Thursdays.

However, it's important to note that this visiting schedule is subject to change as necessary.

Your Team

Do you want to use your Frontend and Mobile Development skills to make a difference in the world of Cardiology? An exciting, fast growing organization with unique and compelling products looking for the right Senior Frontend Software Developer to help us achieve our mission. Join a multi-skilled, dedicated, and talented team developing state-of-the-art wearable cardiac arrhythmia monitors and associated cloud-based software. The right person is motivated to combine the art of UX design with the art of Programming across form factors (Web, Android and iOS). Responsibilities will include partnering with UX design on the wireframes to shape the future of Cardiac Monitoring space. You will work with UX designers and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks and works. Your expertise in software development best practices and keen sense for clean UI design will help us be more productive and efficient in web and mobile UI development cycles.

What you'll be doing

Design and develop cross platform (Android/iOS) Web applications to support various use cases across different personas such as Patients, Clinicians, Hospitals etc.
Implement and test compelling & responsive applications for our cloud-based, Web and Mobile device ecosystem.
Implement and improve development processes, CI/CD, wikis, code quality metrics etc.
Be an advocate of design patterns meeting today's security and regulatory standards.
Deliver high quality and timely results to meet business needs.
Collaborate with designers and stakeholders on requirements and design.
Work together with development team members to bring to market quality, testable applications.

What you'll bring
BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years as a front-end web developer in a product development environment
Expertise in JavaScript (React Native, React.js, Node.js), HTML, CSS, GraphQL, TypeScript and other web development technologies. (3+ yrs)
Expertise in contributing to visual and designs for customer focused frontend implementation (3+ yrs)
Expertise in collaborating with designers and product stakeholders in iterative development
Experience in working on cloud-based (Azure or AWS) products and services including defining, planning, and executing predictable schedules with high quality.
Familiar with Multiplatform development, specifically Kotlin Mobile Multiplatform (KMM) for Android is a plus
Familiar with architectural patterns like MVP
Outstanding communication abilities
Medical device or other regulated application space experience is a plus
Familiarity with iOS app development and best practices is huge plus

Required Skills-

  • Android Development (minimum 3 years) is now a mandatory requirement, previously listed as a plus.
  • The candidate will primarily focus on React Native, React.js, Node.js, HTML, CSS, GraphQL, TypeScript, and other relevant web development technologies.
  • Familiarity with Kotlin is advantageous.
  • While experience with iOS is beneficial, it's not mandatory.
  • Exposure to Azure is a bonus, although in-depth knowledge is not mandatory. Experience with AWS is acceptable otherwise.
  • Proficiency in Design Pattern MVP is appreciated.
  • Experience with Medical devices is beneficial but not obligatory.
  • Regulatory background is not a prerequisite.

Experience Division

  • Primary expertise of 70% in React Native, Web apps, and Kotlin.
  • Secondary expertise of 30% in Android development is desired, (with Java Development considered a valuable asset if available)

Good To have

Experience in Bluetooth connectivity development would be advantageous for the role, though candidates without this specific expertise can receive training if necessary.

Team size

The team comprises five Front End developers alongside several Business Analysts.

This candidate will collaborate closely with fellow engineers, working in parallel on shared projects.

Interview Process

The selection process involves two rounds of video interviews, each lasting one hour.

There are no in-person interviews scheduled for this position.

Project Extension

There is a significant probability that this project may transition into a full-time position for the individual, contingent upon exceptional performance.

The contract duration for this conversion opportunity spans 12 months (Contract-to-Hire).

Education Qualifications

Master's Degree with 8 to 10 years of Relevant Experience.

Bachelor's Degree with 10 to 12 years of Relevant experience
