Software Support Engineer – Software & Hardware Systems

Minneapolis, MN | Direct Hire | $100,000–$110,000 + Bonus Opportunity

Konik is partnering with an innovative engineering and manufacturing company seeking a Technical Support Engineer to provide advanced customer support for complex software and hardware systems used in high-power electronic test equipment. This role combines technical troubleshooting, software debugging, system integration, and customer communication to help resolve complex issues and improve product reliability.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting technical products, troubleshooting software and hardware issues, and working cross-functionally with engineering teams. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with customers while contributing to software improvements, testing processes, and product development initiatives.

Software Support Engineer – Software & Hardware Systems Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical support for customers using complex software and hardware systems.
  • Troubleshoot software, hardware, networking, and system integration issues to minimize customer downtime.
  • Identify, reproduce, and document software defects while partnering with engineering teams on solutions.
  • Develop troubleshooting procedures, test plans, and technical documentation for software updates and product improvements.
  • Integrate and validate software solutions on product hardware platforms.
  • Create and maintain knowledge databases, service documentation, and technical support records.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, field service, and customers throughout product testing and support activities.
  • Support field service activities and customer deployments as needed.

Software Support Engineer – Software & Hardware Systems Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of relevant technical support, software, hardware, or engineering experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows-based systems, device drivers, network connectivity, and database connections.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Experience with issue tracking systems such as Jira or Confluence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work directly with customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting highly technical products or industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of digital electronics and hardware systems.
  • Experience with software testing and validation.
