Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced executive to lead our proprietary products division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership, direct-to-customer or national sales, marketing, and strategic planning within the hollow metal doors, frames, and hardware industry. They will drive the development and growth of our proprietary product lines, ensuring alignment with company objectives and customer requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure a deep understanding and integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into all aspects of the proprietary products division's strategic planning and operations.
  • Manage and nurture relationships with national customers, key accounts, and strategic partners, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic plans for the proprietary products division, with a strong focus on driving sales growth and maximizing revenue opportunities.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to penetrate new markets, expand customer base, and increase market share within the hollow metal doors and hardware industry.
  • Collaborate with regional sales teams to set sales targets, develop sales plans, and provide guidance and support to achieve revenue goals.
  • Conduct regular sales performance reviews, analyze sales data, and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and customer service to ensure alignment and support of sales objectives.
  • Lead and motivate the sales team, providing coaching, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance performance and drive results.
  • To inform sales strategies and tactics, stay informed of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote proprietary products and generate leads.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial targets.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with clients, team members, senior management, and other stakeholders.
  • Strategic Thinking: Sales Directors must be able to develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with the overall business objectives. This involves analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities, and adapting strategies accordingly.
  • Analytical Abilities: The capability to analyze sales data, performance metrics, and market research is essential for making informed decisions, optimizing processes, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Financial Acumen: A solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting is important for managing sales budgets, forecasting revenue targets, and evaluating sales performance.
  • Team Building and Development: Sales Directors should be adept at recruiting, training, and developing Sales talent. Building a cohesive and high-performing sales team is key to achieving sales targets.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to identify challenges, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions is vital in the dynamic and competitive sales environment.
  • Commercial Door and Hardware Knowledge: An in-depth understanding of the industry, market dynamics, competitors, and customer needs is essential for devising successful sales strategies and staying ahead of the curve.
  • Networking Skills: Building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry influencers, can significantly contribute to sales success.
  • Negotiation Skills: The ability to negotiate terms, contracts, and agreements with clients, partners, and vendors is crucial for closing deals and maximizing profitability.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has supervisory responsibilities of 3-5 people.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • In an office environment located in Dallas, TX.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Travel

  • This job requires business travel up to 25%.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in sales management, business development, or related roles within the hollow metal doors and hardware industry.
  • Proven track record of success in driving sales growth, managing national customer accounts, and leading regional sales teams.
  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of sales principles, market dynamics, and customer needs.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute actionable sales plans to drive revenue growth and profitability.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering measurable results and exceeding sales targets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
