Technician I

Growing company looking for an entry level computer/networking/camera technician that wants a career in an innovative field. This person will be trained by a veteran in the Intelligent Traffic System Industry (ITS). ITS is one of fastest growing fields due to traffic demands and the introduction of smart cars. This person has to enjoy working outdoors as well as inhouse programming state of the art devices. The candidate must some experience in programming devices such as layer 2 or 3 switches, cameras, wireless, etc; however will train on our standards and devices.

Technician I
Job Summary: Assist with on-site or in-house installation, integration, servicing and/or repair of equipment. This job may include any aspect of field support and installation including troubleshooting and repair of ITS and traffic signal equipment, systems, and wiring; installation of equipment; upgrades, modifications, programming; documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Assist in installation of ITS components of transportation systems, including the following:
▪ Intelligent transportation systems (ITS)
▪ Traffic signals
• Assist with the Install, Integrate and Maintain of ITS equipment including but not limited to cameras, radar detectors, electronic signs, communication equipment, and controller cabinets.
• Install electrical conductor, data conductor, and fiber optic cable.
• Install pull boxes, conduit, poles, and foundations.
• Assist with the testing of devices to ensure functionality.
Required Skills and Experience:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Technical degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a, CDL Class A license.
• IMSA Traffic Signal certifications a plus.
Other Requirements:
• Travel will be required.
• Must be able to work any shift, weekends or overtime as required.
• Required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to walk and climb or balance.
• Regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and moving traffic.
• Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.
• Comfortable with confined space work.
