Field Welder - Structural Steel

PAY STARTS @ $28-30/HR + OVERTIME (OVER 40 HOURS, TIME AND A HALF), DOE

The work of a Field Welder/Installer is highly precise in nature and requires a very strong attention to detail. This work is helpful in nature, providing environmental services to dedicated clients using Diligent. We need quality work output time and time again, which requires patience and conscientiousness.

To be successful in this job you must be steadfast in serving others and have a standard of precision - that is obvious both in and out of work. You are self-motivated, committed to always improving, and can follow established processes and procedures closely. There is much consistency and familiarity from one day to the next. We offer extensive training and support, but the role is accomplished working as an individual, without a great deal of oversight. If this is you and you can prove it, you could be a phenomenal fit.

1. Perform welding operations in the field, including stick welding, MIG welding, TIG welding, and oxy-acetylene cutting.
2. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to determine the specific welding requirements for each project.
3. Select appropriate welding equipment, tools, and consumables based on the materials and conditions involved.
4. Prepare and clean surfaces for welding by removing rust, scale, and contaminants.
5. Set up and maintain welding machines, ensuring they operate at optimal efficiency.
6. Weld components in various positions, such as flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead.
7. Monitor the welding process to ensure it meets quality and safety standards, making adjustments as necessary.
8. Inspect welded joints and structures for defects and make necessary repairs or modifications.
9. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and hours worked.
10. Follow all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a safe work environment.
11. Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and project managers to complete projects on time and within budget.
12. Travel to various job sites as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Welder with a valid welding certification
• Proven experience as a Field Welder, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
• Proficiency in various welding techniques, including stick, MIG, TIG.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
• Strong knowledge of welding equipment, tools, and materials.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Physical stamina and strength to work in challenging conditions and lift heavy materials.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to follow safety protocols.
• Must have a valid drivers license job requires you to drive company vehicle
• Experience with stainless steel, aluminum, or other specialty materials.
