Job description

Job Overview: 

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder to join our team. As a Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and products using various welding techniques. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of welding principles, be proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings, and possess a keen eye for detail to ensure the quality of the finished product. This position requires physical strength, dexterity, and a commitment to safety protocols. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Interpret and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to ensure accurate and precise fabrication. 
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, including selecting proper welding tools, gases, and wire or electrode materials. 
  • Inspect materials for defects and ensure they meet required specifications before starting the welding process. 
  • Clean, prepare, and arrange metal surfaces to be welded, removing any impurities or contaminants. 
  • Conduct weld tests to assess the quality of welds and make necessary adjustments to achieve optimal results. 
  • Maintain welding equipment by performing regular maintenance and repairs. 
  • Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. 
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects. 
  • Monitor inventory of welding materials and report any shortages or needed supplies to the supervisor. 
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. 

Preferred qualifications: 

Candidate must have some or all of the following Educational/Technical requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in Welding 
  • Proven experience as a Welder or similar role in metal fabrication. 
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, Spot, Robotic 
  • Familiarity with reading technical drawings and blueprints. 
  • Must be familiar with Machines and the use of tips, nozzles and other machine issues. 
  • Ability to operate and maintain welding equipment effectively.

Preferred skills and abilities: 

Candidate must have some or all of the following skills and abilities: 

  • Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship. 
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in various positions, including standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods. 
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. 
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to safety standards. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot welding issues. 
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
