We have a great opportunity to be part of a well-established and reputable company in the City of Industry, CA. We are currently seeking General Assemblers for a hardware manufacturing company with a large inventory of simple to customized beautiful doorknobs. If you are highly motivated and have great energy, we would like you to join our team!

Schedule:1st shift starts at 5 am / 6 am, Monday-Friday plus possible overtime.

Pay rate: $18

The assembler is responsible for a sequence of operations to correctly assemble door lock mechanisms. The assembler must be able to use a variety of hand tools — e.g., pliers, air tools, hand tools, drills, fixtures, etc.

The assembler also has the following requirements:

Must follow instructions and test equipment to assure quality.

Responsible for meeting assembly hourly production quota.

Attention to detail, to assure quality assurance at a timely manner.

Able to lift to 50 lbs. for assembly; materials need to be transported (using a cart) from one area to another with a tray weighing between 10-50 lbs.

Instructions:

An assembler is to follow FIFO guidelines when proceeding to their next order.

Read and understand the order correctly and start the assembly process (Top to bottom). Product is to be assembled in pairs.

Start with the external assembly process.

Place Knob/lever on worktable

Attach plastic washers.

Add grease.

Place shims, plates, and springs. (Depending on requested item)

Test handle to ensure proper mechanism function. (Verify that installation is not too tight nor too loose) Team lead can assist trainee with an accurate feel of a correct tightness)

Add springs/spindles to the handle (make needed adjustments as needed)

Proceed with assembling the inside component (Repeat 1-10 instruction

Trainee must complete Hour by hour sheet, with dates, times, and discrepancies through the process. (This is to see how many locks the trainee completed in that hour, including, the trainee stepped going away from the dept.)

Requirements:

High School Diploma preferred.

2+ years of Warehouse or Assembling experience

Ability to pass E-Verify, background, and drug tests.

Must have a resume for interview consideration.

Must have great attention to detail.

Must know how to work with hand and power tools.

Ability to stand for long hours, sit, kneel, pull/push, and lift up to 50 lbs. consistently.

Understand and use personal protective equipment (ear, eye/sleeve protection)

Ability to listen and hear to receive instructions, speak on the phone, and hear safety/fire alarms.

Great manual dexterity to operate buttons, knobs, and toggle switches on machinery.
