Overall Requirements:

We are searching for an entry-level IT Technician to conduct the day-to-day basic IT functions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for daily maintenance and updates/upgrades of a variety of company assets and the infrastructure supporting them.  The candidate will be the first point of contact for all IT-related issues, so a friendly and approachable demeanor is required.  This position will require a minimum of 4 days a week in office.

Responsibilities:

• Applies software patches and performs hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs to ensure all systems are up to date.
• Monitors and maintains desktop systems, printers, and other peripheral equipment.
• Provides help desk support and technical assistance to system users, escalating issues as necessary.
• Gathers and maintains inventory of IT equipment, such as desktops, laptops, mobility devices, etc., as well as the parts and materials to repair these devices.
• Documents instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.
• Records computer processes, procedures, hardware, and software information.
• Presents equipment and policy training to staff and end users.
• Researches and analyzes new technology, techniques, threats, and industry best practices to optimize efficiency and usability and minimize vulnerabilities.

Education & Experience:

• 1 year relevant and recent experience working in IT and/or a DevOps environment.
• Degree/Diploma in information technology, computer science or related field preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

• Certification in the following considered asset (MSCE, MCP, MCSA, A+, CCNA).
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies.
• Knowledge of security best practices.
• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical personnel.
• Knowledge of Docker and Jenkins for software deployment is a definite asset.
• Knowledge of Prometheus configuration and deployment is a definite asset.

This position may require additional security clearances and background checks.
