We are hiring Plastic injection molding specialists/technicians with experience to start production in a new injection molding department. The company is an established pump and tubing manufacturer.
Job Description:
As a Plastic Injection Molding Specialist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining plastic injection molding machines to produce high-quality parts according to specifications. You will work closely with the production team to ensure efficient manufacturing processes and meet production targets. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills will be crucial in maintaining the integrity of our products and optimizing production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate plastic injection molding machines according to production schedules and specifications.
- Monitor machine operation, including temperature, pressure, and cycle time, to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Conduct regular inspections of molds, equipment, and materials to identify and address any issues or defects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with molding processes, equipment malfunctions, or product defects.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on molding machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize tooling and mold designs for improved manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Maintain accurate production records, including production quantities, scrap rates, and downtime, to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in plastic injection molding preferred.
- Proven experience operating plastic injection molding machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Familiarity with mold setup, mold maintenance, and basic tooling principles.
- Understanding of plastic materials, processing parameters, and quality control standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
