Licensed Clinical Supervisor


As a member of the Leadership Team perform clinical and administrative duties in support of residential and therapeutic services for adults with SMI, TBI, and dual-diagnoses. Supervise to implementation of Clinical Oversight, ensure services are provided in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations and contract requirements, and build an environment which promotes growth for each member of our team and each individual in our care.  Provide Clinical Oversight to Group Facilitators, BHTs, Certified Caregivers and BHPPs as required.   


Primary Responsibilities and Task Areas

 

Leadership

Serve as mentor, coach, and trainer for direct care staff, particularly in the areas of service delivery and documentation, ensuring adherence to Orion’s philosophy, goals and objectives.

Work collaboratively with House Managers and Program Coordinators to ensure client needs are met in a safe and supportive environment.

Work collaboratively with Human Resources to monitor staff performance, recommend training or performance improvement plans, and develop future leaders.

Participate in weekly leadership meetings with Department Heads and Executives to address operational barriers, develop organizational goals, review problem areas and share information.

Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs on clients' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.

Learn about new developments in counseling by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, or establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.

Provide Clinical Supervision training to staff and managers.

Coordinate or direct employee workshops, courses, or training about mental health issues.

 

Part of your responsibilities may include but are not limited to: 

 

Counseling

Counsel clients, individually or in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life circumstances, or modifying behaviors.

Encourage clients to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives, helping them to develop insight into themselves or their relationships.

Guide residents in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their presenting problems.

Assess clients for risk of suicide attempts.

Modify treatment activities or approaches as needed to comply with changes in clients' status.

Discuss with individual clients their plans for life after leaving therapy.

Plan, organize, or lead structured programs of counseling, work, study, recreation, or social activities for clients.

Plan or conduct programs to prevent substance abuse or improve community health or counseling services.

Gather information about community mental health needs or resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy.

  

Administrative 

Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.

Collect information about clients through interviews, observation, or tests.

Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition, based on review of client information.

Develop and maintain Initial Assessments, initial & subsequent Treatment Plans, Crisis/Safety Plans, and Discharge Plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.

Lead coordination of care and goal setting through Case Management meetings and consistent communication with Guardians, Case Managers, advocates and family members

Review Incident Reports, submit as necessary to Case Managers or AHCCCS QM Portal, and develop appropriate plans to address patterns or trends in incidents.

Fill out and maintain client-related paperwork, including federal- and state-mandated forms, client diagnostic records, and progress notes.

Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports.

Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments or develop treatment plans.

Act as client advocates to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.

Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, or supporting clients or patients.

Meet with families, probation officers, police, or other interested parties to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.

Monitor clients' use of medications.


Education, Licensure and Experience

Licensure issued by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners to practice behavioral health in Arizona at the Independent level (LPC or LCSW).

 

Minimum of three years’ experience in a behavioral health setting.

 

Experience working with SMI adults struggling with delusions, hallucinations, self-injury, medication non-compliance, verbal aggression, physical aggression, elopement, and memory or communication deficits.
