Liberation Programs is hiring a Maintenance Worker for our Residential Treatment Facilities in Stamford and Norwalk, CT. The Maintenance worker will ensure the facilities' physical plants are running properly. The worker is responsible for fulfilling all maintenance requests and managing inventory of cleaning and operation supplies. the worker is also responsible for performing minor electrical, plumbing and carpentry repair in order for buildings to remain in compliance with all agency and regulatory compliance.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees maintenance
    • Maintains a neat, clean and safe environment for recoverees, staff and visitors
    • Responds appropriately to maintenance requests
    • Documents all requests and repairs
    • Maintains availability for on call duties
    • Maintains and orders all cleaning, maintenance and operation supplies.
    • Maintains inventory process: Which includes: stock rotation, labeling of all containers and documentation of incoming and outgoing materials
    • Obtains MSDS sheets for all chemicals
    • Educates housekeeping staff on hazards

  • Performance of ongoing building repairs and projects
    • Performs minor electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs as requested
    • Perform remodeling projects as directed
    • Performs painting within the building as directed

  • Facility Safety
    • Conducts daily and weekly Safety Inspections
    • Participates in monthly Safety Committee Meeting
    • Reports findings of monthly safety inspections
    • Implements recommendations and resolutions from Safety Committee findings.
    • Addresses ongoing safety issues appropriately
    • Assists in decreasing facility related injuries.
    • Ensures compliance with regulating bodies (i.e., Health Department, Fire Department, OSHA, CARF)

  • All other duties deemed necessary as assigned by supervisor

    • Physical plant is maintained and operational

    Accountabilities: (the major end results that should be reached in the job function)

    • Safety & security of staff and visitors is maintained.
    • Compliance with regulatory bodies
    • Interior / exterior building environment is properly maintained.

    Qualifications:

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Valid Driver's license
    • Ability to travel between agency sites
    • Extensive experience in building maintenance/construction field
    • Knowledge of Public Health Codes and safety compliance
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to coordinate and communicate with community vendors
