Job description

Monday to Friday 7:00 AM - 3:45 PM

Job Summary: The Facility Worker acts as sanitation support for the Warehouse team and plays a primary role in ensuring the warehouse is in compliance with any/all food safety handling requirements. Cleans the warehouse floors, aisles, product slots, break rooms, office areas, and restrooms. Empties trash in all areas of the branch office as needed. Maintains cleanliness of outdoor trash disposal area and the outside grounds.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Cleans and maintains warehouse aisles and product slots. Pulls product out of the slot with a pallet jack and cleans the slot with cleaning supplies and an electric scrubber. May conduct inventory checks and product replenishment to reload the pick face slot during slot cleaning.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the warehouse. Responds to spill calls over intercom and cleans warehouse racking and within individual slots of damaged product, spills, broken cases, and pallets.
  • Sweeps, mops restroom and break room floors, and cleans restroom fixtures daily. Restocks paper towels and toilet paper. Empties trash and dust.
  • Empties all outdoor trash cans. Maintains cleanliness of the disposal area. May be required to scrub the outside entrance area of the warehouse.
  • To collect and separate recyclable items such as (plastic, wood, cardboard, etc.) in the warehouse.
  • Follows company cleaning procedures. Ensures a safe work environment.
  • Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

  • Knowledge of cleaning methods including basic methods of cleaning floors, carpets, furniture, walls, and fixtures
  • Knowledge and ability of safety precautions and procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to maintain buildings and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly and secure condition
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to operate assigned custodial equipment
  • Ability to observe health and safety regulations
  • Some Facility Workers in specific position require considerable and strenuous physical exertion so incumbents should have the ability to lift heavy objects over 50 pounds
  • Mental alertness is necessary to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities.
  • Ability to learn proper sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
  • Ability to learn the safe operation of floor scrubbing equipment and motorized pallet jacks.
  • Ability to read and comprehend labels on cleaning supplies and hazardous materials throughout the facility.
