Audit Specialist

HintonBurdick CPAs & Advisors is seeking to fill the position of Audit Specialist. We are an established regional firm with offices in St. George, Utah | Cedar City, Utah | Richfield, Utah | Mesquite, Nevada | and Gilbert, Arizona, that is dedicated to providing quality accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting services. We are looking for exceptional individuals who want to be part of a growing firm of experienced professionals. The Audit Specialist will work with various industries, including local governments, non-profit organizations, tribal governments, employee benefit plans, and commercial businesses. The ideal candidate should be familiar with general accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and have the willingness and ability to learn standard auditing procedures.

Skills, Abilities:

• Articulate and concise in both written and oral communication
• Self-motivated and organized
• Accurately perform auditing procedures and correctly document the result
• Desire to learn and grow
• Assist in preparing financial statements
• Work with a team to plan and conduct audits under GAAS and GAGAS
• Tech-savvy and able to learn and operate different computer software
• Strong team player and champion of colleagues
• TIme management

Experience/Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Accounting - minimum
• Critical thinking, attention to detail, and reasoning skills
• Previous auditing experience a plus
• Governmental or tribal work experience a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Able to communicate effectively

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Travel 6-8 weeks per year
