The Juvenile Justice Center of Philadelphia (JJC) is a non-profit, multi-service organization that serves the needs of children, youth and families in need of services to promote healthy and productive outcomes related to their emotional, behavioral well-being, social and educational progress. Our service delivery model is to provide quality intervention and prevention services to children, youth, and families through supportive services. JJC has Part-time/Fee-for-Service Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) openings in our Coulter Street office to work primarily in zip codes 19124, 19122, 19135 and 19137 and those surrounding communities.
$700 Bonus Incentive Pay!!! $100 after 90 days, $200 after 6 months, $400 after 1 year of employment
Job Summary
The BHT is an integral team member of the Intensive Behavior Health Services (IBHS). A BHT provides individualized services to a child (or group of children) served in our IBHS program. A BHT is a member of a child’s treatment team and works collaboratively with other team members to implement intensive, behaviorally based treatment strategies and interventions.
The BHT utilizes a strengths-based approach to empower children with emotional and behavioral needs. The BHT provides direct, in person therapeutic interventions and supports to assist in the child’s development of positive social, emotional and behavior skills.
BHT delivers services within the child’s educational, community, and/or home environment and implements the child’s individual treatment plan (ITP) created by Behavior Consultant, and delivers evidence-based strategies and interventions designed to address challenging behaviors. Assignments may be subject to change based on staffing needs and/or a child’s clinical progress or per the written order.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma, bachelor’s degree preferred, in addition to ONE of the following:
- Certification as a RBT, BCaBA or BCA
OR
- Completion of the 40-hour training covering the RBT Task
OR
- A behavior health certification or behavior analysis certification
OR
- A minimum of 2 years’ of experience in direct care behavioral health services.
Other Qualifications
- Participation in at least 20 hours of documented in service training hours per year.
- Valid PA criminal, child abuse, and FBI clearances, mandated reported training, and clear sex misconduct/abuse disclosure release form (Act 168)
- Valid driver’s license with access to an automobile, preferred or ability to utilize public transportation; specifically in/around the 19124 and 19122 zip codes
Hours of Work: Must have daytime and evening availability, schedule may change based on the child’s needs.
