SUMMARY: Reviews Commercial property inspections to determine eligibility and acceptability for coverage. Provide excellent customer service to policyholders and agents via in-bound telephone calls and e-mail communications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following reflects essential functions for this job but does not restrict tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.

• Ensure all properties we insure meet applicable underwriting standards.
• Meet daily production requirements while maintaining 100% accuracy in business decisions.
• Endorse policies to ensure rating and underwriting details are accurate.
• Notify agents or insureds of negative underwriting decisions (cancellations, non-renewals, etc.)
• Assist with various projects assigned to the Department.
• Prepares reports and correspondence as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of customer service or underwriting experience is preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Proficient in internet software, Excel and Word.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
• Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Acute attention to detail.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
