Job description

A growing key Optimus client in north Houston is seeking a Senior Commercial Representative to support and execute commercial strategies across its midstream natural gas portfolio. This role will be responsible for managing key commercial relationships, negotiating agreements, and providing strategic insight related to infrastructure utilization, capacity planning, and business growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead negotiations and administration of gathering, transportation, processing, and related commercial agreements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with midstream partners and other key counterparties.
  • Evaluate infrastructure capacity, utilization, and expansion opportunities to support operational and commercial objectives.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and other internal stakeholders to resolve commercial issues and optimize outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system performance, contract value, and overall commercial efficiency.
  • Monitor industry trends, market fundamentals, and competitive activity to support business planning and commercial strategy.
  • Provide commercial analysis and recommendations related to infrastructure development and asset optimization.
  • Support the development and mentorship of less experienced team members.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Energy Management, or a related discipline.
  • Advanced business or industry-related credentials are considered a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial, midstream, energy marketing, business development, or related roles within the energy industry.
  • Proven experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing external business relationships.
  • Demonstrated understanding of producer, midstream, and market dynamics.
  • Strong knowledge of gathering, processing, transportation, and other midstream commercial structures.
  • Ability to evaluate commercial opportunities and translate complex information into actionable recommendations.
  • Effective negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes in a cross-functional environment.
  • Self-directed professional with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and execute with minimal oversight.
