Cost Accountant

Montante Group delivers world-class real estate development, construction management, and solar installation services through its three affiliated companies: TM Montante Development, Montante Construction and Montante Solar.  Montante Group has built a strong portfolio of commercial and residential properties in Western New York, and continues to take on exciting development projects in the region, including Lancaster Square at Gates Circle, Riverview Solar Technology Park, the Planing Mill, and 616 Niagara in Niagara Falls.

The Staff Accountant is a key member of the Finance & Accounting team who will play a significant role in ensuring accuracy of accounting records across multiple entities. This will be done by providing clear and timely financial reports and account reconciliations.

Responsibilities

General Accounting

• Prepare journal entries, monthly account reconciliations, and postings to the general ledger
• Prepare, review, and analyze timely and accurate monthly financial statements
• Analyze financial results, budget variances, and performance metrics as part of the month end close process
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial package
• Ensure financial records and reports are prepared in compliance with company policies and in accordance with GAAP
• Assist with external audits, including preparation of year end workpapers
• Assist with the annual budgeting process
• Assist Controller with special projects as necessary, including research and analysis, portfolio performance and other ad hoc requests

Desired Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with accounting software, Sage Intacct a plus
• Experience in construction and/or real estate development a plus

Total Compensation Package

We offer a competitive total compensation package including:

•  Base Pay: $55,000 to $65,000 annually
• Annual performance and salary review, with bonus
