Sterile Processing Technician (SPD) - New Oakville ASC

We're actively looking for seasoned Sterile Processing Technician (SPD), FT 11a-7:30p to become integral members of our team. The ideal candidate will have one or more years of sterile processing experience in an acute or ambulatory setting. Join us in shaping the future of healthcare.

ABOUT US:

The Inova Oakville Ambulatory Surgery Center, situated in the Potomac Yards area of Alexandria, is nearing completion in its construction phase. This cutting-edge facility will be a cornerstone of the newly established Inova medical campus, scheduled for inauguration in mid-2024.

Boasting state-of-the-art infrastructure, the center will feature three (3) Operating Rooms, (3) Procedure/GI Suites, and 12 PreOp/PACU bays, all geared towards delivering top-tier medical services to our community.

WORK SCHEDULE:

• Full-Time, Monday-Friday
• Day shift only, no nights, weekends, call, or holidays
• 5X8 (1100-1930)

• Clean and decontaminate patient use items by taking apart instruments, rinsing and soaking instruments and using washing/sterilization equipment.
• Assemble, package and/or terminally sterilize patient use items.
• Keep required records such as biological testing records and unit checks for outdated packages
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment
• Perform required environmental and/or equipment maintenance procedures.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

EXPERIENCE YOU'LL NEED:

• Minimum of one year previous sterile processing experience is strongly desired
• Sterile Processing Certification a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Must be able to adapt to repetitive, short cycle operations
• Must be able to organize and prioritize work
• Must have some mechanical ability to operate large equipment, to disassemble and assemble instruments, and have some familiarity with surgical instrumentation
• Must be able to work well with others
