Sr. Staff Accountant

Our client is seeking a meticulous, analytical team player to join our accounting team as a Senior Staff Accountant. In this role, you'll contribute to all facets of the financial accounting process, covering general ledger, insurance accounting, fixed assets, financial reporting, and various other business cycle aspects. Working closely with internal departments, you'll ensure accurate account recording under the guidance of the Controller/Assistant Controller.nsibilities:

• Execute journal entries.
• Prepare supporting schedules for entries throughout the accounting cycle.
• Reconcile subledgers to the general ledger.
• Aid in managing the monthly close process and managerial reporting.
• Gather data for internal accounting, AP, AR, and Cash dashboards.
• Handle cash accounting and reconciliations.
• Assist in developing enhanced processes and technical enhancements.
• Support annual audits.
• Prepare insurance reporting for underwriter partners.
• Assist with regulatory reporting.
• Manage sales and use tax reporting.
• Handle cessions and retro reporting for insurance/service contracts.
• Validate data across systems and related integrations.
• Perform other duties and ad hoc reporting as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Minimum 5 years of general ledger accounting experience.
• Payroll experience is a plus.
• Highly preferred: Experience with NetSuite.
• Strong communication, research, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Skill in building relationships with clients and internal departments.
• Attentive to data anomalies, with a knack for identifying and resolving issues.
• Ability to thrive as a self-starter in a startup environment.
• Proficiency in analyzing data and deriving logical conclusions and recommendations.
• Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Excellent knowledge of financial statements.
• High proficiency in Excel (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, Macros), MS Office, and NetSuite.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.
