Job Title: Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)

Department: Operations - Services

Reports To: RSekure Program Manager

Location: On-site in Chantilly, VA

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week

Pay Type: Salaried, Contract

Clearance Req: TS/SCI - Full-Scope Polygraph

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

RSekure is seeking full-performance Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) in the Chantilly, VA area to work with our customer's network security and accreditation team. An ideal candidate will have direct experience in an ISSO or information security engineer (SSE) role, and must have excellent attention to detail. This position will work heavily with authorization to operate (ATO) and Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) package development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review documentation to include Systems Security Plans (SSPs), risk assessment reports, certification and accreditation (C&A) packages, and plan of actions and milestones (POA&M).
  • Review and validate security documentation to ensure necessary security controls are in place and operating as intended.
  • Develop system security plans (SSPs) in accordance with the applicative governing directive for systems, and ensure all networks are maintained respective to SSPs.
  • Review and maintain vulnerability scanning tool compliance and reporting to ensure compliance with all applicable directives.
  • Update documentation and specifications of compliance requirements and control inheritance across system products and components.
  • Travel not required.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills

  • Familiarity with Authority and Accreditation (A&A) and C&A packages needed to obtain security approvals for system deployments into production state.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing assessment reports and assist projects in identifying security risks, including technical and non-technical, and developing effective mitigation strategies, including Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and authoring System Security Plan (SSP), security requirements, and other supporting documentation for the A&A process.
  • Knowledge and ability to write and review NIST 800-53 controls.
  • Experience running and interpreting Rapid7 Scans.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in network security or related positions.

Desired Certifications and Licenses

  • Other relevant cyber certifications (CompTIA Sec+, Net+, etc.) are a bonus.

Special Requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance with a full-scope polygraph.

Work Environment

Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.

Physical Demands

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
