Test Technician Level 2

BEPC is looking for a Test Technician (Level 2) to join our fast-growing team of consultants in Smithfield, RI!

Contract W2 Period 6-8 weeks 

Pay Rate $19.53/HR plus Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance benefits offered!

Perform varied laboratory services and functions in support of NSP Cranston Safety and Health Production operations, Engineering functions and NPD (new Product Development) activities.
Performs standard testing processes as pre-certification testing of respiratory protection products per NIOSH standard, record and report results.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Associates Degree of Science in Laboratory or Chemical Technology or Engineering or equivalent experience

· Experience in test support and test execution

· Basic computer literacy and ability to employ basic computer skills to record, retrieve and analyze test data.

· Must be able to proficiently read, write, speak English to communicate, and follow written instructions

· Possess analytical testing knowledge necessary to reliably perform numerous varied quality control test procedures in a timely manner

· Ability to execute detailed test procedures, which describe the experimental operations necessary to test routine samples.

· Make conforming/non-conforming decisions.

· Ability to make conforming/non-conforming decisions on all samples submitted to laboratory for analysis.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

· Accurate, reliable, timely and safe execution of documented laboratory procedures to product documented criteria in support of Production, Engineering and R&D.

· Operation and maintenance of laboratory test equipment and instruments

· Record test results write test reports and maintain orderly files of all test data on computer database and manual record keeping systems.

· Maintain clean & safe laboratory conditions

· Perform laboratory support activities including maintaining and ordering of supplies and outside services.

· Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

SPECIAL CHALLENGES:

· Ability to wear a respirator for 4 hours a day

· The incumbent interfaces with product design personnel to ensure experimental products are being properly evaluated.

· Flexibility in performance of tasks in timely support of multiple demands.
