The Associate Director of Digital is a dynamic leader tasked with ensuring excellence in planning and execution of social media strategies. This role involves direct supervision over a team of Social Media Managers and the hands-on management of client accounts. The Associate Director of Digital focuses on operational leadership, the execution of client-specific strategies, and delivering measurable outcomes. Additionally, this role is responsible for the development of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and the creation of comprehensive social media playbooks, ensuring best practices and innovative strategies are at the forefront of all social media activities.

  • Lead and develop a team of Social Media Managers, promoting an environment that encourages creativity, strategic thinking, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee 2-3 key client accounts, developing and implementing tailored social media strategies that align with client goals and deliver on key performance indicators.
  • Serve as a senior client liaison, offering strategic advice, resolving issues, and demonstrating the impact of social media initiatives.
  • Develop, standardize, and implement social media playbooks that guide internal processes, campaign execution, and client engagement strategies, ensuring consistency and high quality across all platforms.
  • Work closely with the Strategy Team to meld broad strategic insights with channel specific approaches.
  • Support the development of monthly content plans, contributing to brainstorms and ensuring all learnings and social best practices are considered during the planning process
  • Craft and refine RFPs to secure new business opportunities, demonstrating the agency’s capabilities and strategic approach to potential clients.
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of key social media channels and audience behaviors on each, including, but not limited to, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and X, sharing this knowledge formally and informally with cross-departmental team members.
  • Support Analytics team in analyzing and reporting on social media performance, leveraging insights to optimize content strategies and demonstrate ROI to clients.
  • Keep abreast of the latest social media trends, platforms, and technologies to guide the agency’s and clients' strategy and innovation efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in social media management or strategy, with 2+ years in a
  • leadership role managing teams and client accounts in an agency environment.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing comprehensive social media strategies that
  • achieve client objectives.
  • Deep understanding of social media analytics and the ability to translate insights into strategic
  • actions.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging and advising senior client representatives
  • and internal teams.
  • Experienced in developing engaging client presentations, with proficiency in Google Slides (or
  • similar tools such as Keynote).
  • Demonstrated ability in fostering team growth, collaboration, and a culture of innovation and
  • accountability.

The pay range for this position is $120,000 - $130,000 per year. This position is also eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus.

Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Salary Transparency Law.

Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
