Tax Staff Accountant

Braverman CPA PC is a full-service Tax, Accounting and Planning Firm with a specialization in the Arts and Media industries, including For Profits and Not-for-Profits. We are seeking a Staff Accountant is that is a self-motivated and dynamic professional that provides excellent service to our clients.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

• Preparation and review of complex corporate, partnership, high net worth individual, trust and tax-exempt entity tax returns.
• Preparation of business and personal tax planning.
• Preparation of financial statements, compilation, review, and audits (required for this position).
• Preparation and review of payroll taxes.
• Review and reconcile the client’s books and records to supporting documents.
• Respond to federal, state and local tax notices as well as assist in federal, state and local audits and examinations.
• Conduct research of federal, state and international issues.
• Advise client on tax issues.
• Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to clients.
• Provide technical GAAP guidance and financial support and/or tax engagement functions as required to the staff accountants.
• Act as a mentor to junior team members.

Job Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in accounting and tax preparation with at least 1+ years in public accounting.
• Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of federal and state tax returns.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Office. Competency in Lacerte tax software a plus.
• Deadline oriented with the ability to complete assigned tasks independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Regular and consistent attendance, OT may be required during peak periods.
• Performance is measured based on the quality of work, application of knowledge, ability to meet time constraints, and results achieved.
