Geographic locations in which MMSI currently operates include the U.S East, Gulf & West Coasts, and Alaska. The Corporate Office is in Southern California (Ventura) and its Regional Boat Maintenance Center a technically advanced facility in Woodbine Georgia.

How you would make an impact/key responsibilities:

Join the dynamic MMSI team as a Logistics Manager responsible for the US Navy Southeast Region Port Operations. This position is located at the Regional Boat maintenance Center in Woodbine, GA. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

The Logistics Manager will have at least four (4) years of documented experience in Military supply systems and or commercial logistics field. Knowledgeable in creating, maintaining and recording budgets, property control and management procedures (stock rotation, shelf life and storage), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), ordering and receipt of materials, turn-in disposal techniques, processes and protocols, inventory management, market research practices (acquire vendor quotes, consult GSA guidelines and review existing contracts), supply chain software programs and quality control as it relates to supply functions.

Overall responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive Logistics Program supporting the administration equipment accountability

and property control functions, facilities, logistics management, supply operations and purchasing systems.

-Incorporate processes, systems, procedures and purchasing systems

-Incorporate processes, systems, procedures, records necessary for effective and efficient control of Government furnished equipment and supplies

-Over sees warehouse operations, property management, shipping and receiving

-Familiar with government forms and procedures

-Oversee the supply administrations for 7 sites

-Supervise and train supply technicians

-Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff

-Superb customer service skills ability

-Proficient in standard logistics software

-Direct and coordinate the full order cycle

-Maintain control and accountability to include quantity and stock levels

-Resolve any arising problems and or complaints

-Assists in performing audits, documenting processes and procedures and investigating and reporting lost or damaged property

-Determine property acquisition requirements, product availability program and contractual obligations

-Manages procedures and controls for hazardous material shipments and storage

-6 or more years of progressively responsible experience in logistical/warehouse environment desired with recent in the past year preferred

-Knowledge or experience in the handling and management of government property a must

-Able to meet deadlines

-Organizational skills

-Able to help anywhere else needed to fill contract requirements

Physical Demands

Light to Moderate. Please refer to the USCG Merchant Mariner Medical and Physical Examination Requirements for Merchant Mariner Credentials (Form CG-719 K).

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Supervision of several assigned personnel.

Work Environment:

At sea, pier side, associated facilities and aboard vessels and craft.
