Job Overview
The Logistics Strategy Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic logistics partnerships and frameworks that support Saronic's global manufacturing and mission support operations. This role drives capacity security, cost savings, on-time delivery performance, and real-time supply chain visibility across all modes of transportation. The Logistics Strategy Manager partners cross-functionally with operations, mission support, and facilities teams to shape inbound and outbound logistics strategies and integrate scalable systems and processes that support Saronic's rapid growth.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic logistics partnerships across all modes of transportation - including air, ocean, rail, trucking, parcel, and intermodal - to secure capacity, improve carrier performance, and drive cost savings.
  • Lead customs brokerage and trade compliance strategy, ensuring adherence to ITAR, DFARS, EAR, etc.
  • Build and maintain KPI dashboards to manage logistics spend, on-time delivery, and carrier/broker performance across the supply base.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and integration of a Transportation Management System (TMS) to enable scalable, data-driven logistics operations.
  • Partner with the mission support team to optimize outbound logistics workflows and ensure alignment with program timelines and operational priorities.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and facilities teams to plan inbound and outbound logistics requirements that inform and shape facilities design decisions.
  • Manage and develop a team of logistics professionals, setting clear goals, driving accountability, and building organizational capability.
  • Lead supplier negotiations, contract execution, and ongoing performance management across the logistics supply base.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve process efficiency, cost, and service levels across the logistics function.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and contract management activities related to logistics and trade operations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field required; MBA or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Deep experience across all modes of domestic and international transportation, including air, ocean, rail, trucking, parcel, and intermodal.
  • Experience with defense trade compliance regulations including ITAR, DFARS, and EAR; additional relevant compliance certifications a plus.
  • Strong background in supplier performance management, contract negotiations, and logistics contracting.
  • 3-5+ years of experience leading and developing a team.
  • Proven track record managing numerous suppliers across several concurrent programs with global scope.
  • Experience with TMS platforms and logistics data/analytics tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver cost savings, drive process improvement, and operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
