Job Description

Operations Manager – McKinney, TX - Direct Hire

Must have experience working with Electronics.

Operations Manager must experience with electronic recycling, electronic equipment repair, refurbish, resell, or electronic distribution with compliance (ISO, OSHA, Environmental, R2…). Manager will be responsible for the effective daily operations of the production facility and the future planning to scale growth. This position will help grow the business by providing quality product, efficient processing practices, and lead times that win and retain customers as well as overseeing the introduction and scale up of new products. This position is accountable for continuous improvements in quality, delivery, planning, inventory, productivity, and safety in compliance with goals, objectives, legal and other requirements set forth by certification. Must be able to manage all warehouse employees and EHS/Compliance team.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Production and Materials Management:

· Oversee production schedules for optimal order fulfillment and minimal inventory levels.

· Minimize distribution costs through effective forecasting and production planning.

· Design and implement industry-leading processes for materials management.

· Manage control and movement of materials in and out of production area.

2. Leadership and Team Management:

· Direct and administer Purchasing, Production Planning, and Warehouse management.

· Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, picking, shipping, and hazardous material disposition.

· Manage and improve warehouse employee culture.

· Manage a large team, including hiring, training, employee engagement, job performance management including PIPs and other disciplinary actions.

· Ensure personnel availability to meet operational demand and address employee concerns.

3. Health, Safety, and Environmental Management:

· Contribute to and maintain EH&S policies and procedures.

· Support effective training on the quality management system.

· Strategically implement and plan tasks to enhance EH&S Management System effectiveness.

4. Production Planning and Operations:

· Manage all Production Planning operations, including scheduling and inventory management.

· Develop and manage forecasting processes/systems.

· Optimize usage of ERP system for efficiency

5. Strategic Planning and Process Improvement:

· Develop and implement business strategies based on statistical data and cost analysis.

· Control expenses to maximize company initiatives.

· Implement standard practices and procedures for daily operations.

· Plan for future events and oversee compliance team and operational personnel.

6. Project Management:

· Perform business needs analysis and propose process models.

· Plan, organize, motivate, and control resources to achieve project goals.

· Execute projects for the development of new processes, emphasizing costs and timelines.

· Identify and resolve issues promptly, working with cross-functional teams.

· Collaborate with operation and IT teams for process design, improvement, and implementation.

· Ensure adherence to project scope, timely and clear communication of relevant information.

7. Financial and Revenue Optimization:

· Analyze resale and scrap value of materials to maximize revenue.

8. Process Design and Improvement:

· Develop process flow diagrams, P&ID, and equipment selection.

· Troubleshoot challenges and provide tools for effective project team organization.

9. Miscellaneous:

· Perform other incidental duties as required and assigned.

· Work with other departments to facilitate and drive all targets and lead the company to success.

Qualifications / Competencies include:

· 10 years of manufacturing operations leadership experience required.

· Ideal candidate would have Engineering, Science, or Operations bachelor’s degree and MBA preferred. Consideration for other education and industry experience may be given.

· 2-4 years plus experience in project management, PMP certification a plus.

· Experience managing projects in manufacturing or recycling industry is a plus.

· Full life cycle, enterprise-level system development/implementation experience, preferred.

· Significant Lean Manufacturing expertise and experience.

· Direct experience in business process reengineering at an enterprise-level with multiple, inter-related business flows and processes crossing many business areas; experience in process reengineering in an ERP Program is a plus.

· Supervising Material Processing Managers and evaluating employees.

· Investigating and resolving production and operational problems.

· Communicating with site employees to provide and receive proper sufficient training and direction in operational health and safety and compliance.

· Extensive experience in manufacturing and recycling to include Compliance and EH&S management to adhere to R2/RIOS ISO and other certifications.

· PC skills; Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and other applicable applications

· Ability to manage all warehouse employees and EHS/Compliance team.

Position Time/Expected Hours of Work or Travel Required

This is an exempt full-time position. Monday through Friday starting at 6:00am until 3:30pm or later depending on workload. This position regularly requires long hours and some weekend work.
