Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for answering and triaging incoming calls, taking messages and scheduling appointments. Position requires patient, physician, staff, vendor contact, and general public telephonic contact. Representatives must exhibit pleasant phone voice, good manners, be professional in conduct, and have the ability to listen. She/he must demonstrate skill in operating a computer and answering a multi-line phone system.

Remote schedule possible AFTER completion of in-office training.

Duty / Responsibility

1. Demonstrates quality patient service during interactions with patients, coworkers, and vendors

  1. Exhibits a positive attitude and is flexible in accepting work assignments and priorities
  2. Meets attendance and tardiness expectations
  3. Is dependable; follows policies and procedures
  4. Maintains professionalism in interactions with patients and coworkers
  5. Performs quality work and consistently exhibits initiative
  6. Adopts and displays CVPs Mission, Vision, and Values in word and deed

2. Call Handling. Promptly answer, triage and direct incoming calls from patients, vendors, employees, and health care providers in a professional polite manner. After handling each call resume ready status as quickly as possible in order to handle an appropriate number of calls and achieve the average number of calls per day goal.

3. Direct messages to appropriate staff ensuring that messages are clear and distributed promptly. Prepare and mail patient packets on assigned schedule. Accurately respond to inquiries about directions, hours, services, locations, and physicians.

4. Perform other duties as assigned.

BACKGROUND:

Education: The minimum level of education required is high school graduate with computer experience.

Experience: The minimum level of experience needed for the position is preferably medical office experience in a receptionist or front desk capacity; computer experience; telephone experience; customer service experience.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
