Job Description

H&H Heating & Cooling, LLC is looking to expand our team. Family-owned and operated since 1996, our company prides itself on the forefront of a strong reputable reputation in the commercial mechanical/HVAC construction industry. Our company engages in mechanical projects that focus on complete building renovations, new installations of HVAC components and piping systems, building automation systems, underground utilities, and underground piping.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This job involves the repair, fabrication, modification, and installation of sheet metal parts, items, and assemblies. Sheet metal mechanic work requires knowledge of the physical properties and working characteristics of sheet metal, knowledge of tools and equipment required in the sheet metal trade, and knowledge of shop mathematics and principles. Sheet metal work requires skill and knowledge in: using shop mathematics to determine curves, angles, and pitch; planning and making pattern and template layouts; using measuring instruments; operating shop tools and equipment to construct manufactured items and systems with various seams; and working with various kinds of metal, including magnesium, honeycomb material, galvanized and black iron, aluminum and aluminum alloys, stainless steel, copper and brass sheets, lead alloys, and bronze

*Work schedule is Monday-Friday 7:00 am-3:30 pm (40 hrs a week)*

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete AHA’s forms and reports daily.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprint drawings and equipment submittals while understanding the relation of the systems.
  • Install VAV’s, piu’s, duct heaters, and ceiling cosset units per blueprint drawings and equipment submittals.
  • Install commercial air handling units, rooftop units, curbs, package units, chill and hot water coils, and computer room units.
  • Install sheet metal, duct components, and assemblies required per drawings and submittals. (Ex: fittings, fire dampers, taps, access doors, panels, fittings, turning veins, duct smoke, detectors, etc).
  • Install a wide array of different types of hangers with knowledge of hanging methods to determine the best anchoring material for the project.
  • Ability to read, understand, comprehend, and scale drawings and equipment submittals.
  • Layout all components of the ductwork and piping system.
  • Assist with any questions by crew members and explain why the actions were taken.
  • Lift, place, and hang ducts and fittings using necessary means. (EX: duct lift, airlift, scissor lift, lull chain, fall come along, block and tackle pulley, etc).
  • Operate construction job site equipment including but not limited to, a scissor lift, boom lift, and a telehandler (lull).
  • Being able to plan the next steps of the job is necessary to stay ahead of the material and components needed on the job site to keep a steady workflow.
  • Ability to identify and create a solution for potential project interferences. (Ex: safety hazards, limited space for components, not enough space, necessary changes in the layout for the system to properly function).
  • You must clean and organize the site after each workday!
  • Collaborate and work well with team members, project managers, and subcontractors.
  • Encourage safety on the job site.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Measure up, build, and install drain pains.
  • Plan and install all necessary condensate drains and traps for installed equipment.
  • Form up concrete pads for units pumps, tanks, and other equipment.
  • Measure up, draw out, and sketch duct and fittings.
  • Lay out, measure, cut, and bust out holes for ducts and exhaust fans.
  • Install flash and seal exhaust fans wall mount and on roof curbs and ducts.
  • Apply tape, duct sealer, gummy gasket, caulk, or necessary means to the joint.
  • Connect the duct by necessary means for the duct at hand. (Ex: drives, ductmate, ect)
  • Insulating duct with duct wrap and foil tape.
  • Communicate with other subcontractors, team members, crew, and project management to complete the project safely and efficiently.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to obtain a government clearance.
  • 4+ years of experience with ductwork
  • Personal transportation to and from work.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with duct-building machines, plasma cutters, and their computer software (not required)
  • Experience installing copper tubing for mechanical systems (not required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA10 (not required)
  • Experience with duct-building machines, plasma cutters, and their computer software (not required)
  • Ability to build ductwork and fittings by hand (not required)
