Manager, Supply Chain Network

The Supply Chain Manager of Distribution & Logistics manages a global network of 3PL contract warehouse providers. Responsible for overall strategy and KPI metrics of warehouse network, including managing contract operations to budget, service targets, identifying and installing operational improvements, and aligning strategy to meet company growth projections. Identify, select, and negotiate contracts with 3PL partners. Communicate logistics related issues to appropriate warehouse, commercial, and operational partners. Manage all warehouse activities including WMS operations, 3PL compliance to best practices, process improvement, and all other related activities. Identify improvement opportunities to reduce costs and automate processes. Work closely with business contacts to ensure high level performance to internal customers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement global network strategy that is aligned to company vision and growth expectations.
• Evaluate and present cost-optimization strategies for the 3PL network, including analyzing costs, negotiating contracts, and identifying opportunities for consolidation or automation.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with 3PL partners, including negotiating contracts, managing service level agreements (SLAs), and resolving performance issues.
• Ensure daily warehouse operations at all 3PL locations adhere to established quality standards, safety protocols, and inventory management practices.
• Conduct regular audits and performance evaluations of 3PLs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Manage 3PL communication and information flow, ensuring accurate and timely data exchange between the 3PL network and internal systems.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including procurement, sales, and logistics teams, to ensure smooth product flow and fulfillment of customer orders.
• Analyze industry trends and best practices in 3PL management, identifying and implementing innovative solutions to enhance network efficiency and performance.
• In conjunction with IT, ensure that ERP/WMS functionality is maximizing the operational effectiveness of our network. Identify systematic improvements to streamline processes.
• Recognize opportunities to automate existing processes and eliminate non-value add activities; coordinate internal efforts to address.
• Identify growth potential of existing warehouse supplier base and investigate alternatives to maximize the efficiency of all current processes.
• Act as primary logistics liaison with sourcing, supply chain, and customer service on all distribution and warehouse operations.
• Act as primary logistics liaison with corporate quality group. Ensure corporate logistics group is in compliance with all documented quality standards.
• Ensure proper supplier measurement systems and evaluations are in place and audited on a regular basis.
• Conduct regular business reviews with all key 3PL providers to monitor and improve performance. Ensure corrective actions are being followed and documented.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong Supply Chain/ Warehouse experience
• Lean or Six Sigma accreditation training desirable for role.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and quality control procedures.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• SAP Experience a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse management software (WMS) systems.
• Ability to travel periodically to visit and audit 3PL locations.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• 7+ years of related professional and progressive logistics/transportation with a proven track record of success in managing 3PL networks or multi-site distribution facilities.

Physical Requirements & Work Setting:

• Requires remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time, and frequent communication.
• Must be able to traverse and operate computer and other office equipment.
• Typical work is in an office environment where the noise level is low to moderate.
