Job Description

Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift.

Metalcraft, a 73-year strong, employee-owned company headquartered in Mason City, Iowa has an opportunity to be part of our Engineering team on our 2nd shift. We are looking for candidates that have general maintenance/support experience. This position would also provide support for electronic maintenance, some heating and cooling maintenance/engineering technical support, and overall team support of various areas within the company.

Hours of the role are Monday - Thursday, typically 2pm to 1:00 AM (10 hour days, 4 days a week). We don't work 2nd shift on Friday!

What will I be doing?

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for our equipment in a team setting.
Provide technical support to production teams in assessing mechanical & electrical issues.
Read and understand schematics.
Provide general technical support for all production equipment.
Provide preventive and reactive maintenance for equipment at Metalcraft and our off-site installations.
Clean, repair, sharpen dies as needed using various industrial tools.
Respond to work order requests for unscheduled maintenance or troubleshooting. Document time and expense spent on maintenance or upgrades.
Assist Team with purchasing, inventory and other documentation as needed.
This position is a second shift position. There will be team rotation of being on call to help provide service for the members when needed.
Produce quality work in an efficient and timely manner to assist Metalcraft in meeting customer needs.

What are you looking for?

Great troubleshooting skills. We are looking for someone that has experience working on cars, tinkering with machinery, comfortable with working with machines.
Ability to work and communicate with non-technically oriented people in the diagnosis of technical problems. Good internal customer service and ability to communicate is vital for this role!
Willing to work in a team environment as a support to operating teams and on a schedule as dictated by project requirements.
Ability to organize daily and weekly schedule to include various activities with varying priorities.
Using Precision Measuring devices, providing attention to detail.
Experience in HVAC is welcomed but not required.
PLC experience is a plus but not required.
We use many electronic systems for research and review, experience in working with computers will help you succeed in this role.
Willingness to travel when needed for special projects. Travel is very limited in this role.

Education/Training:

Two Years Post High School Diploma in Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Electronics, or equivalent experience is what we look for, but open to the right candidate.
