Heavy Duty Mechanic at DAVIS TIRE CENTER

Davis Tire Center in Jacksonville, FL is looking for one heavy duty mechanic to join our 26 person strong team. We are looking to hire an experienced heavy equipment mechanic to inspect, service, and maintain our range of heavy-duty construction equipment. As a lead mechanic, you will be responsible for, inspecting engines and equipment, carrying out services, conducting repairs, and providing routine maintenance.

To ensure success as a heavy equipment mechanic, you should have proven experience working with heavy machinery, be physically fit, and be able to troubleshoot issues on the job site. Ultimately, a top-notch heavy equipment mechanic can repair and service even the biggest machinery with expert care.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance
• Troubleshoot issues with diesel engines
• Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs
• Complete shop paperwork
• Maintain a clean and safe work area

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Post-secondary certificate or degree in engineering OR training as a mechanic (a plus)
• 2 to 5 years of experience with diesel/heavy equipment repair
• Welding experience (a plus)
• Manual dexterity
• Valid driver’s license
