Outside Sales/Wholesale Tire Industry
Eastern Oregon, Eastern Washington and Idaho Panhandle
Tire Factory Distribution is looking to fill a sales position. Tire Factory Distribution is a 40-year-old company based out of Portland, Oregon with six currently operating warehouses spread across: Oregon, Utah, Colorado, and Tennessee.
Sales Territory: Eastern Oregon, Eastern Washington, and Idaho Panhandle. The ideal candidate would reside either in the Tri-Cities or Spokane areas.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position
Compensation
This position provides an annual base salary of $70,000 plus commission with no cap, working with existing and prospective customers.
The position is provided with an expense account, vehicle allowance, fuel card, cell phone allowance, laptop and other business tools to facilitate their success.
Position Summary
This role is customer facing and is responsible for growing wholesale tire sales across the Eastern Oregon, Eastern Washington, and Idaho Panhandle territory by strengthening relationships with existing accounts and prospecting new, quality customers. The Outside Sales Representative maintains consistent communication with management and the customer service team, travels regionally to support account growth, and applies tire industry knowledge to train and educate customers on products, programs, and online tools. Success in this role requires a self-starter mindset, strong planning and time-management skills, regular production and expense reporting, and a consistent commitment to ethical representation of the company.
Primary Job Functions
• Meet or exceed projected account sales goals by building relationships with assigned accounts to facilitate additional business and overall growth of their purchases through Tire Factory Distribution.
• Take actions daily to grow assigned accounts and territory by partnering with "quality" new customers using your most effective means of building relationships: Call, visit location, breakfast/lunch/dinner meetings, events if the potential justifies the expense, etc.
• Consistently demonstrate team communication, which is critical to the success of this role. You will be expected to have a high level of communication with your direct manager and customer service team keeping all informed of activities, successes, potential or existing issues to ensure all customers have a great experience with Tire Factory Distribution.
• Tire industry experience is a big plus as you will be training and educating prospects on our product, programs, and website use.
• Regional overnight travel is needed and varies based on territory and its growth needs. Position may require other overnight stays from time to time for training, group meetings, or events.
• Having a self-starter mentality with strong planning and time management skills is a must.
• At minimum, self-weekly production reporting and expense management is required.
• At all times this individual will ethically represent themselves and the company.
Requirements
• Tire or automotive industry experience is preferred.
• Previous experience working in a wholesale distribution role would be ideal but is not required.
• Familiarity with Sales CRM tools.
• Reliable vehicle that can be used to make sales calls.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, One Drive, Teams
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The role may require sitting at a computer for long periods and lifting and moving up to 10 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. This role requires the employee to be able to drive long distances to service the customers in the territory.
