Job Description: We are looking for experienced Diesel Mechanics to maintain and repair the diesel engines that power our fleet of vehicles and heavy machinery at our shipping terminals. This role is critical in ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining the high-efficiency operations required by our logistics hubs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular maintenance and diagnostic tests on diesel engines and mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems that could include fuel, brake, steering, and transmission systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to avoid unnecessary repairs and downtime.
- Respond to breakdowns efficiently and provide timely solutions.
- Keep detailed records of services performed and parts utilized.
- Stay current with the latest technologies and practices in diesel engine maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental guidelines.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to improve efficiency and overall service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
- Technical certification or diploma in mechanical or automotive engineering is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engines and the maintenance of heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must be willing to work in varied weather conditions and shift schedules.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform labor-intensive duties.
