Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor or LCSW

Job description

We're looking for a full-time, Licensed Professional Counselor to join our dynamic, growing team. The successful candidate will lead group counseling sessions and one-on-one counseling appointments, and will work collaboratively with our onsite psychiatrist to support the recovery of problem patients. You will need to have experience in addiction counseling and intimate knowledge of the best practices and protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals.
• Help clients develop their own strengths and coping strategies., Be able to identify and remove potential obstacles to treatment. Know how to deal with family and work interference in treatment.
• Use safe and effective anger management techniques.
• Provide individual, group, and/or substance abuse counseling services and will conduct multi-disciplinary team meeting weekly to discuss your caseload.
• Provide clinical and administrative supervision, serve as a mentor, coach and teacher for staff and create a climate which promotes quality treatment for each member.
• Must be comfortable with providing services in person at residential level of care.
• Complete substance abuse/clinical assessments.
• Maintain detailed documentation such as intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and monthly reports.
• Complete clinical documentation for the treatment services provided within a 24-hour period from the date of service.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance standards with all patient information.
• Maintain current independent license. (LPC, LCSW)
• Coordinate care with Parole, Federal Probation, and other various State, Federal and Local Agencies.
• Experience working with individuals in the Criminal Justice System (preferred)
• At least 2-years’ experience preferred in facilitating substance abuse treatment services.
• Must be flexible with working schedule.
• Knowledge of CBT, REBT, SMART Recovery and other evidence-based practices.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate compassionately and effectively with patients, their families and other professionals who are part of the treatment plan.
• Demonstrate the ability to maintain a positive attitude and to be passionate with our mission to support citizens returning to society from the criminal justice system and Veterans.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

• Position requires a desire to work in multidisciplinary, outpatient setting with adolescents and their families.
• Licensed AZ behavioral health therapist in good standing with the AZBBHE (LAC, LAMFT, LPC, LMFT, LCSW or LMSW).
• Current Fingerprint Clearance, CPR & First Aid Certifications.
• Experience working with 13-25-year-old clients and their families.
• Energetic and passionate regarding working with the adolescent and young adult population.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the desire to grow with a rapidly expanding practice.
• Established track record of working with adolescents, young adults, and their families.
• Team player willing to work with a multidisciplinary team of professionals in treatment planning and provision of care.
• Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or a related human service field required
• Licensed by Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family, and/or Substance Abuse preferred
• Valid driver's license
• Valid CPR/First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
• Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
• Three year Motor Vehicle Record that meets our auto insurance carrier's coverage requirements

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
