Who you are:

MP's partner is looking for a passionate and experienced LMFT Therapist with Eating Disorder experience to join their team of like-minded individuals. Our partner is looking for a master's level therapist to join their rehabilitation center and start making a positive impact.

What you will be doing:

Responsible for counseling residents and/or families with eating disorders. Is a part of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare workers. Performs individual and group counseling. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and organized; functions well during stressful and/or emergency situations. Ability to maintain control and respond calmly and appropriately in a crisis situation.
    • Understands HIPAA regulations.
    • Demonstrates working knowledge of theories and techniques of counseling and psychopathology.
    • Demonstrates understanding of eating disorders including physiological and psychological effects.
    • Ability to document using the DAP format in a way that communicates progress in obtaining treatment goal objectives.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of major diagnostic categories of the DSM-V.
    • Understands compliance as it relates to the facilities licensing entities.
    • Demonstrates the ability to select appropriate treatment methods and use these methods in individual resident treatment plans.
    • Demonstrates the ability to act as a liaison between residents, each hospital, and the community.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of the facility's history, mission, services, and organizational structure.
    • Capable of performing assessments and psych diagnosis, crisis intervention, discharge planning, environmental manipulation, and individual counseling.
    • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of EMR and documentation guidelines.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of the facility's history, mission, services, and organizational structure.


Our ideal candidate has:
  • Perform resident assessments to determine level of care within facility. Develop and implement a plan of treatment and aftercare plans for the resident and/or family, including obtaining collateral information from family and support network. Evaluate resident progress and revise treatment plan as needed.
  • Provides resident and family education about eating disorders, the recovery phase and relapse prevention techniques. Provide knowledgeable of community resources available for residents and families. Makes presentation to residents on topics related to eating disorders.
  • Assumes case management responsibilities for assigned residents as needed.
  • Perform crisis intervention, including management of difficult or resistant residents, utilizing clinically appropriate accepted techniques and methods.
  • Present resident cases for discussion with the multidisciplinary team and keeps current case presentation outlines for each resident.
  • Develops, implements, and coordinates educational lectures and therapy programs, including conducting morning focus, community meeting and psych educational lectures.
  • Responsible for resident, staff, and self-safety at all times.
  • Takes responsibility for maintaining and monitoring resident records to ensure documentation is completed within program guidelines. Documentation meets standards, policies, and established timeframes.
  • Maintains a good working relationship within the department and with other departments. Treats residents/families with respect and dignity.
  • Performs all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes resident safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Facilitates individual, group and family sessions, AMA interventions and individualizes progress notes in a clinically relevant manner.
  • Sets appropriate professional boundaries and avoid entering into dual relationships.
  • Stays current with new techniques, advances through seminars, conferences, continuing education classes, professional societies and journals, etc.
  • Demonstrates skills to be able to intervene in a crisis situation (i.e., Suicide/homicidal ideation or attempts, family conflict, resident to resident conflicts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional information:
  • Non-Licensed Salary Range: $47,000-$76,750
  • Licensed Salary Range: $48,000-$81,125
  • Supervision hours provided towards full licensure
