About the Role:
We are seeking experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics to join our team in Charleston, SC. As a Sheet Metal Mechanic, you'll be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products and equipment. Key responsibilities include selecting appropriate sheet metal, operating fabricating machines, welding, inspecting assemblies, and ensuring compliance with specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Selecting sheet metal based on product specifications
- Operating fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, and drill presses
- Welding and soldering sheet metal parts
- Inspecting assemblies for quality and conformance to specifications
Requirements:
- Proficiency in shop math
- Skilled in working with tools, metals, and machines
- Ability to interpret blueprints and visualize three-dimensional objects
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform various physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, climbing, and standing for extended periods
