Position: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt

Job Summary:
The CNA is responsible for the care, hygiene and health of program participants, including helping participants bathe and maintain proper hygiene, feeding and ensuring they take their medication and assessing vital signs.
This position reports to the Director of Health Services.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assisting with grooming and bathing participants with low mobility
Preparing changing rooms with necessary items such as blankets, pads, medical equipment and toiletries.
Assisting with feeding and taking medications, if necessary.
Monitoring vitals and behaviors, making reports to proper staff if needed.
Transferring participants with low mobility from chair and back
Turning wheelchair participants to prevent pressure ulcers.
Monitoring skin and documenting as needed.
Following Nursing Care Plans.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Effective collaboration skills.
Keen attention to detail.
In-depth understanding of patient care policies and regulations.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED
Active Kentucky Certified Nursing Assistant license
Must be able to acquire and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification.
Physical Requirements:
Alternating periods of sitting, standing and walking for up to 8 hour shifts.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
