CNA Med Tech - FULL TIME / PART TIME

POSITION TITLE: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Medication Technician - FULL TIME / PART TIME

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the provision of resident services, including assistance with personal care, medications, social and recreational activities, meal services, and other tasks as needed to facilitate the continued well-being of residents.

REPORTS TO: Owner / Administrator / Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Administers medications in accordance to Avendelle’s policies and procedures that also coincide with Family Care Home rules and regulations.

2. Documents medication administration accurately.

3. Adheres to and conveys a philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residents.

4. Reviews resident Care Plans and staff task lists as needed to gain and maintain a familiarity with resident service needs and preferences.

5. Reviews the Staff Communication log and corresponding resident Progress Notes on a daily basis for information about changes in resident service needs and/or health conditions and documents daily in an appropriate documentation system.

6. Provides personal services to residents as assigned and as indicated on resident Care Plans and documents appropriately as tasks are completed.

7. Responds to resident’s request for assistance in a timely manner.

8. Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.

9. Prepares and serves meals (including modified or therapeutic diets, according to physician orders) as indicated on planned menus, using standardized portion sizes and approved substitutions.

10. Assists with meal services, including setting up tables, serving meals and cleaning up the dining room.

11. Assists in maintaining a clean, comfortable and safe environment by providing housekeeping services as needed.

12. Assists with individual resident and group social / recreational activities as requested; encourages resident participation in activities.

13. Monitors for changes in resident needs, preferences, and/or health status, and reports/documents any changes according to established procedures.

14. Responds to emergencies in an appropriate manner as per training received.

15. Works effectively with minimal supervision and in a team setting.

16. Cleans resident rooms/common areas of facility and picks up residents’ laundry according to a regular schedule and established guidelines:

17. Performs deep cleaning in resident rooms according to an established schedule and as per instructions from the Administrator / Manager.

18. Ensures all housekeeping supplies and equipment are labeled and stored appropriately.

19. Report any maintenance needs to the Administrator or designee.

20. Performs all other duties as assigned.
