General Laborer, $15/hr, Ferndale, MI

Are you interested in working for a leading supplier of fabricated tubing and other tooling products for various tier 1 & 2 companies? Then look no further!

Qualifications:

Ability to read and use micrometers and calipers
Ability to read and understand a tape measure/ruler
Previous experience with machine operating in a manufacturing environment preferred
Ability to lift up to 30lbs regularly
Previous experience operating Traub cutting machines is a plus

Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Operating Traub cutting machines to manufacture custom tubing
Loading and unloading machines
Sorting/packaging parts
Operate HiLo (you’ll be properly trained before using)
Will be performing quality control on finished products

The General Labor position is a critical part of the daily operation strategy. The typical day-in-the-life will include gathering new material (tubing) and measuring according to job-orders, once the material is measured, you will need to set up the machine to cut the material accordingly. At this point, you will continue loading and unloading material until the job-order is complete. After this, you will perform quality checks on the final products using micrometers and calipers. At times, you will also be required to move material around using a HiLo. Employees will be trained up on all tasks and will be considered for hire-in after their time with Workbox!
