Machinist - 1st Shift

This position functions in both independent and team-based environments and is exposed to a wide variety of exciting and unique client products within the automotive, aerospace, military, commercial and wireless industries. We are searching for an individual with experience in both manual and CNC fabrication, as well as the ability to think on their feet and pivot when the need arises. Key Responsibilities:

• Manufacture parts, sub-assemblies, and units to exact specifications according to manufacturing information from prints, engineering drawings, oral instruction, etc.
• Operate and setup, misc. manual equipment (lathes, mills, drill press).
• Operate, setup, and program CNC mills.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Use hand tools and assemble parts as required.
• Maintain and fix shop tools and equipment.
• Organize inventory and shop equipment.
• Operate cranes and forklifts upon proper certification.
• Perform all operations according to prescribed safety principles.
• Keep assigned area neat and orderly.
• Record labor into ERP system.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Work effectively and efficiently in both team-based and independent working environments to reduce costs and add value to the organization.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Highschool diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency operating, setting up, and programming both manual and CNC equipment used for manufacturing.
• A thorough working knowledge of shop math and geometric tolerancing.
• Knowledge of general hand tool use including drill presses, chop saws, and band saws.
• Ability to read and interpret a wide variety of written instructions, prints, sketches, and detect and correct errors.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to variations in assembly with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read measuring devices, both in English and Metric.
• Ability to perform work while standing or stooping for long periods of time, and to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
• Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals.
• Basic computer knowledge.
