What We Do: At Bialek, we are pioneering tomorrow’s workspaces. We are a growing and well-established Woman Owned Rockville, MD based Office Furniture and Interior Modular Construction dealer specializing in commercial, healthcare, government, and higher education environments. With primary manufacturer lines such as MillerKnoll (furniture) and DIRTT (architectural walls), along with 200+ other manufacturers, Bialek creates inspiring workplaces across various industries.
About You: We are searching for an experienced, energetic, and creative Interior Designer. The Designer will use a combination of education, experience, and creativity, as well as knowledge of commercial, government, and healthcare facilities, to specify and develop layouts for medium and large furniture and interiors projects for our government clients.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates, organizes and leads design teams for medium to large scale projects
- Develops documents for conformance with design concepts and construction administration activities
- Plan, schedule and direct the development of interior project requirements
- Delivering client presentations
- Works closely with Bialek Government Account Managers to provide stellar service to our clients
- Performs specific project interior design, space planning, and development tasks including drawings, calculations, cost estimates and FF&E specifications
- Serve as client's point of contact for questions, comments, and requests
- Provides client with feedback and follow-up
- Reviews and understand drawings/concepts prepared by others
- Participates in meetings and activities
- Performs as a team-player
- Reads, responds, and develops FF&E bids and responses
Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree required from a FIDER/CIDA accredited program
- Excellent organizational and communication skills required
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage several projects at one time
- Auto CAD and CET experience preferred
- Revit experience helpful
- 1-5 years systems furniture/space planning experience required
- Strong knowledge of the architectural design process
- NCIDQ Certification is a plus
- LEED Certification helpful
- Strong work ethic and leadership qualities
Physical Demands: This position requires long times of sitting, standing, walking, must be able to drive to client locations.
