Job Summary: Responsible for analysing quality manufacturing information and feedback analyses to sales, manufacturing, and engineering on effectiveness of the quality system. Additionally, this position will carry out key steps in establishing and maintaining the company and plant quality system.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and minimum of two years related experience/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced knowledge of systems and processes.
  • Must have a good knowledge of the English language
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Core Tools training and certification
  • Excellent communication, time management, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Must be able to develop schedules, manage projects, train others, and behave in a professional manner
  • Must have knowledge of document control processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure that work instructions are current, at the right revision level, maintained, and available at the point of use
  • Assist other departments in setting up files and work instructions related to the QMS
  • Maintain QS Software and update as required
  • Follow up on Internal Problem Reports
  • Work with Quality Management System documentation and records which includes, but is not limited to: the Quality Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and forms
  • Coordinate and conduct internal and external audit activities and monitor to ensure that they are finished in a timely manner
  • Maintain status of corrective actions, both internal and external including interim, root cause/permanent and closures
  • Ensure latest revisions of forms are used for all customer-related paperwork
  • Lead quality projects as required
  • Understand and interpret international and customer (internal/external) standards in relation to the work of the organization
  • Create procedures and forms based on understanding of the process under consideration in relation to the requirements of the international standard employed along with the customer specific requirements to ensure compliance to the standards
  • Training other employees of the organization in understanding relation of each procedure, form, or record to the big picture
  • Create monthly layered process audit (LPA) schedule
  • Inspect received audits for non-conformance; if non-conformance, generate a corrective action plan
  • Communicate with department managers to investigate missing audits
  • Participate in monthly management review of all information gathered
  • Develop questions for audits
  • Train new and current employees on how to do LPAs
  • Control all documents that could influence the quality of the product
  • Verify document is correct, then send out to manager who owns the process for their approval
  • Save and archive document, and update document change log and master list upon receiving approval
  • Create new documents assign numbers, add to master list, send out to all managers for approval
  • Ensure no use of uncontrolled documents, or documents that aren't up to date
  • Understand processes and procedures for every aspect of the facility and train others on those processes and procedures
  • Lead the Quality portion of the Martinrea Orientation Module (MOM)
  • Run reports and check customer portals daily
  • Any other projects or tasks assigned by the Quality Manager
  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles of publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Advanced excel formula creation.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram from and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Work Environment:

  • 85% Office Environment, 15% Plant Floor (PPE Required)

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
