Clarke of Roselle, IL, the leading provider of solutions for public health mosquito control is seeking to hire a Manufacturing Supervisor that will be responsible for the oversight and supervision of the day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure Safety, Quality and Productivity Standards are consistently met for the mosquito control products that are manufactured at Clarke's production facility and distributed around the world, helping to protect public health from vector borne diseases.

The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing manufacturing activities such as:

  • Managing work-in-process inventories of intermediate materials to meet production schedules and minimize waste.
  • Reviewing and executing production schedules to ensure on-time deliveries. Ensuring all manufacturing documentation is complete, accurate and applicable transactions are entered into the business system as required.
  • Evaluating and developing improved techniques for manufacturing; promote quality improvement efforts and timely, efficient manufacture of products.
  • Developing plans and recommend methods, and changes to improve productivity, reduce costs and optimize manpower, equipment, and supplies.
  • Developing, training, and executing all manufacturing documentation, this includes Work instructions, job descriptions, skill based training needs, various checklists, batch sheets, and other shop floor information as required.
  • Providing weekly/monthly reporting of key operating metrics and prepare action plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Maintaining inventory control policies and procedures; identify training opportunities; train personnel
  • Make/Fill batches as needed to support production schedule.

And will oversee supervisory activities such as:


  • Participates in the development of goals and action plans designed to insure effective and on-going development of skills and competencies of subordinate personnel.
  • Conducts employee reviews and handles disciplinary issues as necessary. When necessary, develops and follows up on a plan of action to improve performance and/or correct behaviors.
  • Evaluates and recommends adjusting job assignments for the most efficient use of staff based on operational needs.
  • Making sure that safe work practices and procedures are followed by department personnel and that all operations comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and all local, state and federal regulations as they apply to health, safety and the environment. .

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 4 years of related experience in batch manufacturing (Specialty Chemicals, Food Processing, Pharmaceutical, or Organic industries preferred) with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role required
  • Hands-on experience with liquid chemical blending and granular/tablet manufacturing preferred.
  • Familiar with a variety of manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to work within an accredited quality environment (i.e., Lean Manufacturing, ISO, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage projects under budget and time constraints.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and to utilize sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Ability to organize time and tasks with little direction or supervision.
  • Ability to deal with multiple problems simultaneously.
  • High School/GED required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English, bilingual Spanish is a plus
  • Previous experience operating a forklift experience preferred.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50-100 lbs., sitting, walking short distances, reach, standing for long periods of time, climbing ladders, and wearing a respirator and other appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Tolerance to various chemical odors required.
  • Ability to effectively partner with employees, management, department, and cross functional teams to meet performance objectives and to support the mission and vision of the Company
